Four people have been arrested after a search warrant sparked a manhunt in central Kansas.

Authorities went to a home northwest of Hudson in northern Stafford County Wednesday morning. When they arrived, four people quickly ran away.

Officers apprehended two women, and tased another man armed with a MAC-10 submachine gun. A fourth suspect ran into a nearby wooded area.

The St. John's News reports a Kansas Highway Patrol flare found the man after 2 p.m.

The incident began after authorities tried to serve a search warrant at a home in connection to a theft in Edwards County. Authorities said the suspects were wanted for stealing irrigation wire. A similar standoff occurred Wednesday in Edwards County with a fifth suspect.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation has been called to the scene to search the home for possible drug paraphernalia.

Officers from at least three counties and the Kansas Highway Patrol, as well as air support and K-9 units, assisted with the investigation.

A manhunt is underway in central Kansas after a suspect ran away from a drug bust.

It happened in northern Stafford County, northwest of Hudson Wednesday morning.

The St. John's News reports the situation started out with a search warrant for some stolen property from Edwards County, but escalated into a drug bust. One person was tased and taken into custody, and a woman was also being questioned.

Another suspect ran to a tree line north of the residence.

Officers from at least three counties and the Kansas Highway Patrol, as well as air support and K-9 units are searching for the suspect.
