Temperatures did not warm as rapidly as previously thought Wednesday afternoon especially in western Kansas due to high cloud cover and the return of northerly winds.
Three records were broken Wednesday afternoon:
Wichita warmed to 95 degrees breaking the previous record of 90 set in 1901
Concorida warmed to 94 degrees breaking the previous record of 93 set in 1989
Topeka warmed to 97 degrees breaking the previous record of 92 set in 1989
Cooler air as well as showers and thunderstorms will move into KAKEland starting overnight Wednesday and through the day Thursday.
