Before you head out the door, we like to catch you up with what happened while you were sleeping.
Wichita Police were busy late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning investigating several reports of drive-by shootings and shots fired. The good news is, nobody was hurt in any of the cases.
Police were called to a neighborhood near 29th Street North and Webb Road when somebody reported hearing gunshots about 11 p.m. Officers did not find any evidence of a shooting in the area.
Sedgwick County 911 dispatchers received another call reporting shots fired about 12:45 a.m. That call came from a neighborhood near Woodchuck and Jennie, which is southwest of Central and Ridge Road. Again, police did not find anything.
A drive-by shooting was reported in the 900 block of West Shade, to the southeast of Central and Ridge. That call was made just before 2:30 a.m. and, once again, nobody was hurt.
Other shots fired calls were investigated in the 9400 block of West 16th and Central and Tyler.
