April 6, 2012

Two women have been arrested in Salina accused of using a baby stroller to shoplift.

The women were arrested Thursday.

Salina Police said the women were shopping at Kohl's at 2580 South 9th Street. Investigators said the women used the baby stroller to conceal the merchandise.

Officers said more than $1,100 in merchandise, including kitchen utensils and clothing, were recovered from the stroller.

Kelsey Heit, 21, from Ellis, and Kiersha Debey, 21, from Hays, were booked into the Saline County Jail, and could face felony theft charges.

Two children, ages 4 & 1, were placed into protective custody until a relative could pick them up.
