Emu On The Loose Ruffles Some Feathers In Bel Aire

April 4 - Catching an emu on the loose in Bel Aire turns out to be no easy task.

An emu is a large, flightless bird that can weigh up to 150 pounds. They are also fast on their feet.

The first plan of attack was to chase the bird. That turned out to be a bird-brained idea; emus can reach speeds of 40 miles per hour.

The Bel Aire police arrived, and the chase continues. They break out the net, but it's no match for the big bird.

After more chasing the bird is finally wrestled to the ground.

At first, the emu was thought to be the property of Sunrise Christian Academy. But after they checked, they realized it's not their emu. Authorities are still looking for the owner.
