Federal prosecutors say the Dr. Stephen Schneider and his wife Linda have enough money to pay for their own defense. The U.S. Attorney filed a motion to have the Schneider's court appointed attorneys dropped from the case, citing more than $691,000 in available assets.
The Schneiders were indicted and arrested in late December and are being held without bond due to fears that they're a flight risk.
After KAKE News tried to conduct a phone interview with Linda Schneider on Wednesday, the feds revoked their visitation privileges.
They're currently being held in Butler County.
The Schneiders are in jail pending trial on a federal indictment alleging they operated a "pill mill" out of their Haysville clinic where they treat chronic pain patients.
