BTK Letters Revealed
March 1--The package found in Murdock Park on December 13th included some of the most haunting clues. In addition to Nancy Fox's driver's license was an object wrapped in a plastic bag. Police told KAKE News even mentioning it might trigger BTK to kill again.
Inside the bag was a doll, a doll with a bag over i'ts head and it's feet bound by panty hose.
It appears to be a Barbie doll, more specifically a "PJ" doll. "PJ" was the name of a doll sold as a friend of Barbie, made from 1969 to 1985. BTK would later reference PJ and a doll in a future communication.
The package also had a list with the same chapter titles that had been mailed to KAKE months earlier, except, for some reason, chapters 1,2 & 8 were blank.
Also in the package, what appears to be a signature on a small piece of paper. It's a strange symbol that contained the letters B,T & K.
The first post card KAKE received in January led us to the Post Toasties box. In addition to saying Post Toasties box and "C-9". It also reads "PJ", "Little Mex" and doll, "Haunt of Kansas", an acronym list and jewelry. He also writes "let me know if you or PD received #7 at Home Depot drop site 1-8-05. Thanks". That was an apparent reference to the package left at Home Depot.
In a post card KAKE received February 3rd, he begins to mention some kind of code. At the top it says: communication number, then KTV-PC-2. At the bottom of the card, he writes "p.s. , may want to use the KTV-PC as a code number and letters from me to you for my verification code. Under business issues he says, "tell WPD that I receive (sic) the newspaper tip for a go. Test run soon. Thanks."
Perhaps the most puzzling message sent to KAKE was a puzzle itself. KAKE received a bizarre word game on May 5, 2004. It's been authenticated by the FBI.
We've found more than 40 words hidden in the puzzle, and have showed you some of them. You'll find prowl, fantasies, spot victim, steam builds, go for it.
You can also find officer, wpd, and Wichita spelled backwards. Then help, handyman and lost pet. Finding lost pets was one of BTK suspect Dennis Rader's jobs as Park City compliance officer.
And if Rader is BTK, he may have left one incredible clue to his true identity in this puzzle. Rader lived at 6220 Independence. Those house numbers appear in the puzzle near a sequence of letters. When you reverse the last two letters they spell "D Rader."
