A national pain relief group is in Wichita defending a Haysville doctor who faces federal criminal charges.
Siobhan Reynolds heads the Pain Relief Network out of New Mexico.
She says PRN will be filing a lawsuit against the federal government in defense of Doctor Stephen Schneider. He's the Haysville doctor arrested and charged with over prescribing pain pills, as well as other federal charges.
Reynolds says Schneider did nothing wrong and that the U.S. Department of Justice is singling out pain management doctors around the country, which is a violation of the constitution.
"This has been going on wholesale all across the country. As a result very few physicians will prescribe these much needed medicines,"
The lawsuit will be filed in about 10 days. The U.S. Attorney's office declined comment. Schneider and his wife are scheduled for court February 26th.
