BTK Back: A Message To KAKE

February 3 - Another mysterious postcard sent to KAKE-TV Thursday, one that could be from BTK. It's the second possible communication from the serial killer in about a week. The communications are getting more frequent, and a lot more personal.

We've heard it time and time again from police: BTK is speaking out, and wants to make sure he is heard. Now it appears he's talking with more and more frequency.

A postcard sent to KAKE News postmarked February 2 arrived at KAKE late Thursday morning.

Investigators arrived minutes later to pick up the postcard, evaluate it, and send it off to the FBI.

In this latest message the return address reads Happ Kakemann, and gives KAKE-TV's address as the return address.

The postcard has a similar layout to the last communication sent to KAKE, which directed us to a Post Toasties cereal box on Seneca Street north of 69th Street.

But this time, no package was mentioned. Instead the contents listed is : Post card message.

He sent us this message: Thank you for your quick response on #7 and 8. Thank to the news team for their efforts.
Sorry about Susan's and Jeff's colds. The last bit is apparently referring to last week, when KAKE anchors Jeff Herndon and Susan Peters both mentioned on the air that they had colds.

After the message the sender writes: Business Issues: Tell WPD and then gives us a message to give police. We've been asked not to reveal what that message says.

If this is from BTK as police believe, it marks the third communication in the last few weeks.

There was also the postcard received by KAKE News on January 25th, which gave directions to the Post Toasties box. That postcard was listed as communication number 8, week of 1-17-05 and listed the contents inside the cereal box.

Then it asks: Let me know somehow if you or Wichita PD received #7. The postcard also revealed where #7 could be found which is something else we have been asked not to release.

Two days later on January 27th, Wichita police held a news briefing about both communication number 7 and communicaton number 8.

Wichita police have asked us not to reveal certain information contained in the communications sent to KAKE News. Investiagators are concerned it could hamper the BTK investigation. To date, we have honored all of their requests.
