Emily Sander was laid to rest Thursday, nearly two weeks after she disappeared in El Dorado. The search for her suspected killer continues.
Around 400 of Sander's friends and family gathered to remember her life on Thursday afternoon at the Carlson funeral home in El Dorado. Many drove in from Texas, where Emily had family and where she planned to move once completing her education at Butler Community College.
The service lasted about half an hour before her casket was taken to it's resting place at Walnut Valley Memorial Park.
Family members did not speak at the service today. A photo show of childhood and graduation pictures was punctuated by loud sobs from people in the audience.
As for the search for Israel Mireles, El Dorado authorities have asked for the help of Kansas Attorney General Paul Morrison's office in the investigation and potential prosecution of the case.
