Anonymous - Wichita is correct. To be as specific as possible - we (Scholfield Honda) donated the vehicle, Kansas Gas Service donated the filling station and Fahnestock HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical donated the parts and labor to install the filling station. It's a complete package that will let Greensburg GreenTown members as well as the community commute and refuel without using a drop of gasoline. Learn more about the vehicle at www.civicgx.com
Actually Fahnestock and Kansas Gas Services donated the fill station and plan to have it installed by the end of the week. For city vehicles that could be tremendous savings. It is equivelant to filling up for 70 to 80 cents a gallon in the winter, and 50 cents in the summer.
How much longer are we going to go on about Greensburg?? I'm sick and tired of hearing about that town. There are worse things to happen to a person than losing their house and other possessions. Besides I'm sure they came out ahead with the insurance money they got. If they didn't have insurance than its their own fault for being too cheap to have it.
Exciting!
Apparently anonymous did not read the article thoroughly; there's a sentence in the middle of the article that states "The car will be fueled by the same gas that heats and fuels a home, thanks to a kit that was also donated to GreenTown." I think its pretty self-explanatory.
Hey Anonymous, not only did the dealership donate the car, they also donated the fuel station for them. Great job Scholfield!!!!
Having the car may be beneficial to the environment but how are they going to fill it up?! Drive to the only two stations in KS (Topeka and Overland Park) just to drive it back to fill it up again...not so helpful to the town of Greensburg afterall! Maybe the dealership should've thought of that...some great decision makers!
YES!
