Police in a rural Kansas town are hoping enhanced surveillance images help solve a 5-year-old double murder.

Mandi Alexander, 24, and Mary Drake, 79, were stabbed to death inside the Dolly Madison store in Great Bend on September 4 of 2002.

No arrests were ever made, but police now have an image of a man who they call a person of interest. The videotape, taken from a nearby business, has been in their possession since the crime but it has taken until just recently before they were able to enhance the video well enough to make out one man they're calling a ''person of interest.''

The man matches a description of a man seen leaving the bakery before the bodies were found. He's the person that most closely matches the composite sketch made after the crime.

The images are shown below, as well as a t-shirt similar to what the man was wearing.

Police are still seeking the individuals who made the last two transactions in the bakery around 5:30pm. Prior to 6pm, a witness approached the bakery and saw a man locking the front door. The witness described the man as approximately 35, 6'1" tall, 185 lbs with shoulder length, dirty blond hair - a description matching the man on surveillance video.

If you can help identify the man, call the Great Bend PD at 620-793-4120 or the Kansas Bureau of Investigation at 620-792-4353.
