The anniversary of the events that took place on September 11, 2001, reminds us of the importance of emergency preparedness.

Sedgwick County Emergency Management strives to maintain a state of heightened preparedness in the event of a natural or man-made disaster.

Today, the emergency management team will host an exercise for which the Sedgwick County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) will be activated. This drill is designed to test the response of the team that will serve in the EOC during an emergency.

Sedgwick County Emergency Management also reminds citizens to take the steps to make their homes and families more prepared: Get a Kit, Make a Plan, Be Informed and Get Involved. Information about emergency plans and items to include in kits can be found at www.segwickcounty.org.
