Wendy Shepherd was ordered to stand trial for the murder of her boyfriend.

An emergency room worker from Via Christi on Harry Street testified in court he saw a flash and heard a gunshot in the parking lot before finding a body.

Cary Funderburg-Atherton testified in the preliminary hearing for Wendy Shepherd. Shepherd is accused of shooting her boyfriend Jose Vincente Galan-Delgado in June. Prosecutors believe Shepherd shot him at a home first, then drove him to the hospital where she shot him again and shoved him into the parking lot.

Funderburg-Atherton said he saw a dark SUV pull into the emergency room parking lot that night. That's when he said he heard a gunshot and then watched the SUV speed away. He ran into the parking lot of find a man bleeding from the head and back. The hospital's efforts to save Galan-Delgado failed.

A police detective testified Shepherd confessed to shooting Delgato, but she said it was because he had been abusing her.

Trial is set for November 8.
