Today’s windy conditions made fighting a wildfire in Rawlins County much more difficult.

Lightning ignited the blaze around 9:00 Monday morning. Rawlins County’s volunteer Fire Departments.

The fire burned between 400-500 acres west of Atwood. The fire is mostly contained, with just a few hot spots remaining.
