A man is behind bars after trying to rob a North Wichita retail giant.
It occurred at a Walmart on 29th and Rock Road around 9:00 Sunday morning. Police say a man in his 40s walked into the check-cashing suite inside the store.
“He demanded money and ended up taking a cash drawer from the business,” Sgt. William Stevens said.
A customer followed the suspect out of the store. Witnesses reported a car description and tag number to police. Officers caught and arrested the suspect a short time later.
