EMPORIA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Officials released the name of the Emporia man killed in a house fire Tuesday afternoon. Sixty-four year-old David Warnke was found dead inside his home at 114 S. Market St., in Emporia.

Authorities said they weren't sure if the fire killed Warnke or if other factors were involved. The investigation into both the his death and the cause of the fire still continue.

Firefighters were called to the house around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. They quickly extinguished the flames, containing them to the front half of the building before finding Warnke's body.

According to KVOE, firefighters and police officers there were called to the home, 114 South Market, shortly before 4:00 p.m. They were able to put out the fire quickly, containing it to the front half of the room.

The name of the victim has not been released, pending notification of the family, officials said.
