One person is dead and two others hurt after an overnight house fire in Sumner County.

The fire broke out early Wednesday morning at a home at 2nd Street and Market in the town of Caldwell. According to the Sumner County Emergency Management Facebook page, one person was killed and two others were injured.

A neighbor told KAKE's Chris Frank that a person who lived at the home came over screaming for help around 2 a.m.

The house is occupied by David Hollis and his son Michael. But another man, a life long Caldwell resident Dennis Lile was staying in the house.

Justin Hollis, younger brother to David Hollis says his nephew Michael was able to pull David Hollis to safety out of his bedroom window. But a next door neighbor who also witnessed the rescue says the younger Hollis tried to reenter the house to rescue Lile but police prevented him because the smoke and flames were too intense.

Dennis Lile was killed by the fire.

The state fire marshal's office is investigating. Check back for updates.
