The athletic director at a Kansas high school that won 36 state championship titles during his career has retired.

Jim Lindstrom is retiring after 34 years as Silver Lake's athletic director. The Topeka-area school will also lose girl's basketball coach, Loren Ziegler, who had 465 wins since 1982.

Ziegler will still coach track and serve as an assistant to the football coach.

Ziegler led the school to four state titles including one in 2002. He held a 465-163 record in 27 years.

Lindstrom saw Silver Lake teams claim state titles in six sports.
