We know it's important to get regular medical tests, but is there such thing as too much testing?
Sometimes doctors can order too many tests, or unnecessary ones, increasing patient discomfort and driving up health care costs.
Consumer Reports teamed up with the American Board of Internal Medicine to figure out which tests are not necessary.
Nine medical groups have made a list of 45 tests and treatments they say shouldn't be automatic when people see their doctors. Patients are encouraged to question doctors who order those tests or treatments, to ask if they're really needed.
