British factory worker Stacey Irvine, 17, collapsed with severe breathing problems doctors say were caused by her nearly exclusive diet of chicken nuggets, the Daily Mail reports. Doctors have warned Irvine to change her diet or she could die.
Irvine tells the Daily Mail her mother let her try chicken nuggets at a McDonalds restaurant when she was 2 years old. She says she loved the food so much she refused other foods. Her mother finally gave up trying and allowed Irvine to continue eating chicken nuggets for every meal.
Irvine says she sometimes eats French fries, toast and cookies but she's never tasted any fruits or vegetables. She says she enjoys chicken nuggets from KFC and the supermarket but prefers them from McDonalds.
After her collapse, doctors put Irvine on a high-dose course of vitamins to fight her anemia, which has left inflamed veins on her tongue. Doctors tell the Daily Mail Irvine's diet could have long-term health problems and she is more likely to develop chronic conditions such as heart disease and cancer.
