State Fair Allergy Booths Popular This Year

Stay up-to-date with KAKE News:

Dry weather, loose dust...

It's the perfect recipe for horrible allergies.

But a solution to your suffering might be available at the State Fair.

A couple booths, are cashing in on the congestion.

Stuffy... Itchy... Watery eyes.

"I have them all the time, but they are worse this year," said allergy sufferer Corine Christman.

They've all been a problem for allergy sufferers lately.

"With all the dust and everything that's been blowing in the air, it's been miserable," said allergy sufferer Le Ann Petersilie.

"They've been really bad, it's been dry, and I'm allergic to pretty much any kind of little ragweed," said allergy sufferer Trey Ford.

A couple booths at the state fair, are offering solutions, and attracting a crowd.

"It's been just packed, lots of people, lots of people to talk to, so it's been really good for us," said Advanced Allergy Relief office manager Penny Wilmeth.

Advanced Allergy Relief claims to have a no shots, no drugs, and no pain answer to allergies.

"What we do is we send a digital signal of a substance to you it simulates the substanc," Wilmeth said.

Arm strength is then used to determine if the person is allergic to the stimulant.

"If your arm stays nice and strong that's a good thing and if your arm goes weak, that tells you it's an allergy or sensitivity."

"Let's try mold, push up, that is an allergy or sensitivity for you," Wilmeth said.

Across the room, air purification is being offered at the Aerus Electrolux booth.

"We have a lot of people who have sniffles, sneezing, but most people in Kansas, they have a lot of dust," said Aerus Electrolux representative Joe Lino.

The bad allergies, are good for their business.

Over three days, fifty of the guardian air purifiers were sold.

"Takes all the dust, mold, pollen, spores out of the air, brings it into that machine, and traps it into a filter," Lino said.

While the machines are over one thousand dollars apiece...

Those desperate for relief, are open to the options.

"Some of my stuff isn't working, allergies are really bad this year, so I thought I'd check them out," Petersilie said.

Both of the allergy booths are offering pricing specials for the duration of the fair.

You can visit their stations in the Meadowlark building.
