A local school has something to smile about, thanks to a dental hygiene grant.
Paul B. Cooper Elementary in Derby, was one of 41 Kansas organizations that received a toothbrush kit from Delta Dental. The group provided 350 kits, complete with toothbrushes, toothpaste, and dental floss. The kits are valued at $1,424.93.
A total of 188,640 kits, valued at more than $100,000, were granted to other organizations across the state. Wichita-area organizations include: Barber County Community Health Department, Butler County Health Department, Catholic Charities Inc., Clay County Health Department, Communities In Schools of Wichita, E.C. Tyree Dental Clinic, Exploration Place, GraceMed Health Clinic, Head to Toe Pantry, Hunter Health Clinic, Independent Living Resource Center,
Kansas Head Start Association, Paul B. Cooper Elementary, Pawnee County Health Department, PrairieStar Community Health Center, Rainbows United, Saline Family Healthcare Center, Sedgwick County Division of Human Services, Sedgwick County Health Department, Starkey, Inc., USD 308 Hutchinson Public Schools and Wichita Area Technical College.
Toothbrush kits support various oral health programs that provide services, education and/or hygiene supplies for Kansas children, adults and families.
