Anti-fluoride groups dropped by a Sedgwick County staff meeting Tuesday morning to express their concerns about the county's website.

Members of the groups say the fact sheet on Sedgwick County's site about fluoride in water aren't accurate. The idea sparked a debate during the meeting between commissioners.

The health department says the facts on its website are to help citizens understand the effects of fluoride on oral health. Director Claudia Blackburn says the facts come directly from the Centers For Disease Control.

Wichita voters will decide in November whether or not fluoride should be added to the city's water supply. Blackburn says Wichita is one of the largest cities in the nation that does not have fluoridated water, however she says the health department is not telling people how to vote on the issue.

Groups rallying against fluoridated water say the county's website does not mention that the recommended amount of fluoride in the water has dropped.

People on both sides of the issue are invited to sign up and speak at the county commission meeting on October 17.
