The Sedgwick County Health Department is out of seasonal flu shots. Last week the Health Department believed it had an ample supply of
doses due to receiving a second shipment of vaccine. Due to a surge in demand related to shipping delays experienced by other area flu shot providers, the Health Department has exhausted the additional shipment.

Currently there is not additional vaccine available for the Sedgwick County Health Department to purchase, although that could change as the season continues.

The Sedgwick County Health Department has given close to 9000 vaccinations in the last seven weeks. Typically that inventory lasts the duration of seasonal flu season.

The Health Department suggests those with a medical home contact their health care provider to schedule a seasonal flu shot. Those without a medical home should visit Dillon's, Walgreen's and Wal-Mart, as these locations offer seasonal flu vaccine to walkin clients. Because of nation-wide shipping delays, it is recommended that anyone who wants to get a seasonal flu vaccine call ahead to be sure seasonal flu vaccine is available at the clinic you are planning on visiting.

Local Walgreens and Walmarts are out of the seasonal shot. Area doctor's offices and clinic's are also out, but many say they have a shipment on the way.
