Republicans are targeting older Americans who worried about President Barack Obama's health overhaul plans, by unveiling a "seniors' health care bill of rights."
The Republican National Committee today outlined six principles it says will protect Medicare and prevent rationing of health care based on age. It says the principles would guarantee that government won't get between seniors and their doctors.
RNC Chairman Michael Steele outlines a "bill of rights" in an op-ed piece published today in the Washington Post.
The Obama administration has insisted the plan it backs will do none of those things that the Republicans are warning against.
But polls have shown that Americans, and older Americans in particular, still have significant concerns about Democratic health care proposals.
