Operation Rescue says it filed a complaint seeking the suspension of the medical licenses of two abortion providers.
The anti-abortion group says it filed the complaints about George Tiller and Shelley Sella after a Derby woman nearly died last week at Tiller's Wichita clinic.
But the woman tells The Associated Press on Tuesday that she has not filed a complaint with the Kansas Board of Healing Arts or authorized Operation Rescue to file one on her behalf. The AP is not identifying her because of the sensitive nature of the incident.
Operation Rescue President Troy Newman says his group filed the complaint based on the information given to them and was not acting on the woman's behalf.
Tiller's attorney says he's not aware of the complaint but that Operation Rescue lacks credibility.
