President Barack Obama is showcasing energy-efficient vehicles as part of his push for reducing U.S. dependency on foreign oil.

The president will make a short trip to Landover, Md., Friday to visit a UPS shipping facility that features a fuel-saving fleet. At the site, President Obama will view not only UPS vehicles, but also vehicles from AT&T, PepsiCo and Verizon.

On Wednesday, the president called for a one-third reduction in U.S. oil imports by 2025. The White House has been especially attentive to rising gasoline prices and is eager to focus public attention on President Obama's long-term energy strategies.

The president's energy proposals include boosting domestic oil production, increasing the use of natural gas and alternative fuels and making cars and trucks more efficient.
