How does a new boiler room turn into an award from the State of Kansas?

Almost 400 people crammed into the Oxford High School gym Wednesday to receive the Energy Efficiency Leader in Education Award.

That’s because a new boiler will help save the small school district almost $100,000 a year.

With the extra bonus, the kids learn from it as well. That’s because all the projects have been incorporated into the classrooms as a teaching tool.

The ideas, came from the students. The administration interviewed students and principals prior to the work being done, and ordered the improvements based on their responses.
