The parking meters here are enforced seven days a week until 11:00 p.m. If you are in a hurry, or just not paying attention, you could miss the signs with this information. It’s also posted on every 10-hour meter.

Tonight on Good Question, viewer, Bryson Voth, has a few questions about parking in downtown Wichita. He wants to know at what times are parking at the meters enforced. It’s just one of several good questions you’re asking about parking in downtown.

There are over 23,000 parking spaces in downtown Wichita. Of those 23,000 spaces, over 2,000 have parking meters.

In Wichita, parking meters are enforced Monday through Friday until 5:00 p.m. That’s true except for one location: at Century II, in front of the library.

The parking meters here are enforced seven days a week until 11:00 p.m. If you are in a hurry, or just not paying attention, you could miss the signs with this information. It’s also posted on every 10-hour meter.

Something else you should know about the parking meters in downtown Wichita is that it is against the law to ‘feed the meter.’ For example, if you are parked at a 2-hour meter, you can’t come back two hours later and drop more change in the meter for more time. You would have to move and find another space.
