It’s not often you get to start a new year on a new week.

One viewer asked KAKE’s Jeff Herndon how often has the final day of the year fallen on the final day of the week?

But some people believe the final day of the week is Sunday, while others believe Sunday is the first day of the week.

Since 1777, or 234 years ago, the new year started on a Sunday 35 times. This Sunday will be the 36th Sunday new year. The last new year to begin on Sunday was 2006.

The new year begins on a Sunday about every 6 and a half years.
