By far, the most asked questions we get are about the national Do Not Call registry. Who is allowed to call? What can I do if telemarketers keep calling even though I'm on the do not call list?

These are all good questions. We're going to answer as many as possible in this week's good question.

Maybe the most often asked question we receive is about who can or can't call after a number is listed. Charities, political organizations and surveys are allowed to call you, even if you are on the list. Any company offering goods or services is not allowed to call.

What if they do call even though you are on the list? First, tell them you are on the Do Not Call list and ask them to stop calling. If they continue to call, write down the date and the phone number and contact the Federal Trade Commission and file a complaint. You can do it online or by phone.

How long will your number be listed on the Do Not Call registry? The answer is forever, or until you request to have it removed.

Can you register a cell phone on the national do not call list? Yes, you can register up to three personal numbers on the do not call list.
