A viewer asks, “What’s the difference between a non-3G network, 3G and 4G networks? Is one really better? And is one service better than another?” Good question.

First of all, the “G” in 3G stands for “generation.” It’s the third generation in a family of standards for wireless communications defined by the International Telecommunications Union. There was a 2G, even a 2.5G. Now there’s 3G and there will soon be 4G.

The 3G network allows your phone to do more things than the older generations. Faster internet is one of the perks.

Does it affect service and quality of your phone calls? No, not really.
