Carmelized Green Beans with Figs & Hazelnuts, Chef Tyler Provines
1 lb. fresh green beans (cleaned)
1/4 cup shallots, minced
1 cup fresh or dried figs, quartered
1/2 cup hazelnuts toasted and halved
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
salt & pepper
Heat large saute pan over medium flame.
Add olive oil and green beans (cut french style). Saute until beans are carmelized. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Then add the butter and the shallots and saute until shallots are translucent. Next, add the figs and cook until warmed through.
Finish by sprinkling the hazelnuts over the beans.
