Wichita Police were involved in a brief chase with a vehicle, believed to be linked to recent ATM burglaries.

It began around 9 p.m. Friday in the 1000 block of North Sheridan. Sgt. Bruce Watts says an officer spotted a white Toyota Tacoma, matching the description of a vehicle involved in recent burglaries of ATMs in the area.

The chase was called off near 11th and North Nevada near Zoo Blvd. and West Street when it became too dangerous to continue.

Sgt. Watts says the truck has a stolen Kansas license plate of 814 EFG. Anyone who may spot the vehicle should contact 911.

Wichita police officers were involved in a chase overnight with a man suspected in several recent ATM break-ins and thefts.

It began around 3:20 Thursday morning when an officer spotted a white pickup truck that matched the description of one used in four recent ATM cases. He tried to pull over the truck in the 1400 block of K-42, but the driver sped away.

The chase lasted several minutes, going through west, south and east Wichita. At one point the suspect drove through a fence, and officers eventually lost sight of the truck in the 400 block of East Douglas.

Police have not yet located the truck or suspect. The truck is described as a white crew cab Toyota Tacoma with tag D435FF.

Wichita Police say they're concerned about several recent cases of ATM break-ins and thefts, with another incident reported overnight.

Around 1:30 this morning, officers were dispatched to Meritrust Credit Union near 135th Street West and Maple in west Wichita.

A man set off the alarm after he pried open a panel and equipment inside the ATM but did not access any money. The suspect was not on scene when officers arrived.

Surveillance video shows a white man who was wearing a dark baseball cap with the letter 'C' on it. He was also wearing a dark jacket, gloves, and bandana. He drove away in an white Toyota Tacoma pickup truck.

Police are still investigating several other recent cases of ATM break-ins and thefts in Wichita. Those crimes occurred at the Wichita Marriott, Legacy Bank at 21st and Ridge, and the Cotillion.
