Now that the snow is off the road, Wichita city crews are on pothole patrol.
Six to eight crews are out daily trying to smooth out what nature left after two major snow events. "We've averaged maybe ten calls a day", said Wichita Maintenance Engineer Aaron Henning.
Henning said the number of potholes has declined in recent years. In 2010, there were roughly 70,000 potholes, 54,000 in 2011 and 48,000 last year. The drought produced fewer snow and rain events in recent years.
