Westar Energy is expanding its Care Station schedule
with two additional locations in Olathe on Aug. 22 and Salina on Sept. 1.
“Response to our Care Stations has been excellent. Customer advisers have met with more than 300 customers one-on-one to offer energy-saving tips and budget advice,” said Peggy
Ricketts, vice president, customer care.
“Our advisers help customers understand payment
options and eligibility.”
Customer advisers, who are specially trained to assist customers in financial distress, will help determine
eligibility for assistance through the fund.
Customers are able to talk to a customer advisor at Care Stations scheduled for:
Aug. 18 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Salvation Army, 700 N. Walnut, Hutchinson.
Aug. 19 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Red Cross, 1900 E. Douglas, Wichita.

Westar urges customers who are struggling to pay their electric bill to contact the company early rather than allowing multiple months’ worth of unpaid balances to accumulate on
the account. Payment plans are typically more manageable when the amount due is lower.
