One Wichita area family is hours away from the surprise of a lifetime.
Thursday is the day, when Extreme Makeover: Home Edition makes the big announcement about building its third Wichita-area home.
It's not too late for KAKE viewers to get in on the action.
At Bob Cook Homes in Derby, it was down to the wire Wednesday.
"Lots of phone calls. Lots of people wanting answers that we can't give yet," said Marla Neely, Bob Cook Homes.
In less than 24 hours those answers will be given, as a deserving family finds out they're getting a brand new home.
"I can't wait until tomorrow when we can turn loose who we're doing this for, and where we're doing it," said Bob Cook, builder for Extreme Makeover House.
Bob Cook Homes will lead the way, as Extreme Makeover: Home Edition makes Wichita their home for the next week.
"You don't get opportunities like this often in your life. They called me up, and I didn't have a moment's hesitation. I said, 'Sure, let's go'," said Cook.
Hundreds of volunteers have already donated their skills, time, and efforts for a week of intense work.
"We've got everything timed down to 30 minutes on the home for all the different sub-contractors and the materials coming in. We're needing plumbers pretty bad still. I've got plumbers lined-up to do the underground plumbing, but for the rough ends on the house, we're still needing plumbers," said Cook.
They're also looking for anyone interested in helping make history, by helping create a memorable community project.
"It's really worthwhile. If people can't work on the project, they can still be spectators. All the support we get, we really look forward to. There's nothing like having something going on on the job, and having a big crowd cheering for you," said Cook.
The crew will begin the build Friday. Find information on how you can help by clicking here.
