WICHITA, Kan.--- Less than 200 beds are still available for the new Wichita State University Shocker Hall.
"We want to dispel the rumor or the myth that it's full. The building is not full but we're doing very well on leasing spaces," said Dr. Wade Robinson, WSU Campus Life and University Relations Vice President.
Of the 784 beds available, 625 of them have been assigned to students for the Fall 2014 semester.
"The response from students and parents has been what we thought it would and that would be a lot of interest based on the location, the convenience, the type of room, the newness, all the things that come," said Robinson.
Students can choose the following room types and includes utilities: 4 Private Bedrooms/2 Baths at $3,407 per semester
3 Private Bedrooms/ 1 Bath at $3,290 per semester
2 Shared Bedrooms/ 1 Bath at $3,110 per semester
2 Private Bedrooms/ 1 Bath $3,641 per semester
1 Bedroom/ 1 Bath at $4,028 per semester.
Construction of Shocker Hall is nearly 60-percent complete and on schedule to be move-in ready by August 1st.
Brennan Hall and Wheatshocker Apartments will be replaced with Shocker Hall.
