If you thought the Grinch who stole Christmas was just a story, think again. According to one Wichita family, he's real.

"Someone stole my kids' Christmas, how low can you go to take from two little kids?" said Arletta Kinder, who says her children's presents were stolen from her South Wichita home.

Kinder says the first thing she saw when she returned home Tuesday night was a broken window. The second thing she noticed was that her children's presents were gone, along with their Christmas tree.

"It really hurts. It hurts for my kids because they're old enough to understand," said Kinder.

Her children are four and six years old. After months of anticipation, their mom says they're devastated.

"It hurts them so bad that she cried herself to sleep and she made herself sick," said Kinder.

Because Kinder says the Grinch may have won this year. As a single mom who's currently out of work, she says buying new presents just isn't possible.

"It has taken me and my children about three months to prepare and buy everything for Christmas," said Kinder.

That's why she says she wishes thieves would have taken anything else.

"That's what hurt the most, is that they focused solely on my children," said Kinder.

Kinder says police haven't caught the suspect.
