It's not every day that people get to experience the red carpet but it will happen to three lucky Kansans.
"I never imagined myself walking down the red carpet but I do now," said Tammy Ratliff, wife of Army veteran, Ethan McCord.
The couple will be walking the red carpet at the Academy Awards this year.
Ethan is featured in an Oscar nominated short documentary called "Incident In New Baghdad." The film is about veterans, like Ethan, who have suffered Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
"All the glitz and glam and everything, that's wonderful. It's great and it's fantastic. But for me, personally, it's the knowledge that my story is out there and it's reaching people that otherwise would've never seen it," said Ethan.
The film has already given him the chance to rub shoulders with A-list celebrities like Brad Pitt.
"I was trying to play it off like it was nothing. You didn't want to seem too eager or anything, but inside I was probably screaming like a little girl," he said.
Tammy said she won't get starstruck but she is enjoying the pre-Oscar celebrity treatment.
"It's been amazing. We've had amazing people helping us from the salon at Blonde & Beyond, to here at Foggy Bottom. It's been a really nice experience," said Tammy.
Another Kansan will also be among the people experiencing the red carpet. Angela Cato won one of 100 spots to be a Red Carpet Insider.
"It's really random. People from all around the world apply for that. So to get chosen from this, in my opinion, is pretty rare and awesome to be able to get there and be there for the entire the red carpet experience," said Angela.
They are all looking forward to the experience.
"It's definitely something to tell the grandkids about," said Ethan.
