Two developers competing for the first state-owned casino in Sumner County now have names for their projects.

More than 30 people from Wellington attended the unveiling of Global Gaming Solutions' casino, to be named the WinSpirit Casino at Exit 19-Wellington.

"We're excited about the developers. They're first class. The one thing that we've noticed through this process - it's not the pretty lights and the pretty buildings, it's the people," said Vince Wetta, state representative.

Competitor Peninsula Gaming had already announced their casino name, Kansas Star. Their proposed site would be at Exit 33-Mulvane.

The two developers are vying for a single casino license for the South Central Gaming Zone. The State Lottery Facility Review Board will chose the developer on Dec. 15.

Both developers will presenting to the Board and public, Thursday, 9 a.m., at the Raymond Frye Complex in Wellington.
