Via Christi Health will be showing off their Da Vinci Robot this weekend at the Fit For Life Expo.
The Da Vinci Robot is used to assist surgeons at Via Christi Health during difficult operations. The robot's main arm includes two cameras which give surgeons a detailed 3-D view of the operation site.
The robot is being used for surgery for prostate cancer, kidney surgery and heart surgery. Doctors say the main advantage is faster recovery time for patients because the robot is less invasive.
The Fit For Life Expo is a free event sponsored by Via Christi Health and will be held Saturday, October 9th from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. at Century II.
