A Wichita father who made news for teaching his daughter a lesson about bullying, found himself facing a similar charge.

On Dec. 12, Wichita Police arrested DeAndre Anthony for two counts of aggravated assault and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

The victim, Shawndel Jefferson, claims he and a friend went to a house in the 3200 block of S. Gordon to get back his daughter's gold chain.

"It's all over just a little girl's necklace," he said. "It was a gift to my daughter."

Neighbors recall hearing a gunshot as the victims and Anthony argued on the street. At least one shot was fired and left a bullet hole in Jefferson's car. Three windows were shattered from bricks that were allegedly thrown by Anthony.

"I was scared of my life after the gunshot," said Jefferson.

Anthony is known for forcing his daughter to hold up signs outside of Truesdell Middle School after she was suspended for playing a part in bullying a classmate. To see that news story, click here.

"My daughter was part of the bullying and we're here to show our support and show our support to make a change. It starts with the individual," said Anthony, in an interview with KAKE News on Aug. 28.

Anthony refused to make additional comments about last week's incident.

Jefferson is still without his daughter's necklace. Anthony is expected in court on Dec. 31.
