Wichita police say they have found 32-year-old Michael Kelly, who went missing from the Walmart at Pawnee & Broadway Tuesday afternoon during an outing with his group home. Police say he appeared to be well.
Investigators tell KAKE News Kelly was found after walking into a West Wichita pharmacy, where he asked for a prescription. The pharmacy contacted his group home, which alerted the pharmacist to hold Kelly until police could arrive.
Wichita police are looking for a man who is believed to have walked away from an outing with members of his group home on Tuesday.
Investigators say Michael Kelly, 32, was last seen at the Walmart near Pawnee & Broadway. He is a resident of a group home located in the 1900 block of S. Woodlawn, police said.
Kelly is a white male, 5' 6", about 150 lbs, with brown eyes and a recently shaved head. Police say he has a large scar visible on the top of his head.
Kelly has a history of seizures and substance abuse, investigators told KAKE News. He's been known to frequent liquor stores in the area.
Wichita police were working to get an updated picture of Kelly to news outlets across the area. KAKE News will post the picture when it is received.
Anybody with information on Kelly's whereabouts is urged to call police or 911.
