Car Thief Holds Up Wichita Woman

Wichita Police are on the lookout for a man who they say held up a woman to steal her car and purse.

At about 9:30 p.m., investigators say a 48-year-old woman parked her car and was walking to her home, when a man approached her. He displayed a weapon and demanded the woman's car keys and purse.

The woman complied with the man's request. He took her car and was last seen heading west on 2nd Street near Chautauqua. The woman was not hurt.

Wichita Police describe the suspect as a black man, 6'2", 180 pounds and wearing a dark blue puffy jacket and dark blue jeans.

The woman's car is a 2004 dark blue Ford Focus.
