Traffic Back Open After Deadly Train Accident

One person is dead after a train crash this morning in southeast Wichita.

It happened at about 4:15 a.m. at the train tracks near K-15 and MacArthur.

Investigators say a 51-year-old man from Wichita was walking along the tracks when the train hit him. The train conductor then called 911 to notify emergency crews they hit something. When emergency crews arrived, they found the victim's body. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency crews are still working to remove his body.

The train blocked traffic at the tracks at K-15 and MacArthur for about two hours.
