The United Way is looking for more than 1000 area high school and middle school students to become vacation volunteers during spring break this year.
The 15th annual Youth Days of Caring kicks off on March 16th. It allows middle and high school students from all over the area to volunteer for any of 37 projects at 27 nonprofit organizations.
"We want to introduce students who maybe want to do it one time and get a taste of it, and hopefully that will get them more involved in the future, " says Dalane Butler, Vice President of Marketing for United Way of the Plains. "They go home feeling good that they have done something that was more then watch a video game."
The signup deadline for Youth Days of Caring is March 10th. For more information, call the United Way Volunteer Center at 267-0202.
