Wichita's Convergys is trying to fill 750 full time seasonal call center positions. The Convergys career fair was held today to help fill their customer service support needs.
"I've been to several job fairs this semester and last semester. It's kind of a tough job market so every opportunity you hear you to try to apply for a job - you gotta take it," said Aundre Kerr, MBA student.
New employees will provide customer service support to a healthcare industry client until early 2011. Approximately 25 of the positions require candidates who are bilingual in English and Spanish.
"The quality of candidate that has come in has been very good. So we're really excited about the opportunity to do this today, bring jobs to the community, and offer this to Wichita right now," said Megan Krueger, Covergys, recruitment manager.
The company is looking for candidates with a minimum of one year customer service experience and flexible hours.
