Earlier this month, a jury convicted Alejandro Betancourt of first-degree murder for killing 13-year-old Miguel Andrade. This week, Betancourt's brother Eli is going on trial for the same crime.
Twenty year-old Eli Betancourt is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Andrade on June 20 of last year.
Eli Betancourt is accused of being one of the trigger men who walked up to a home near 24th and Jackson in Wichita, rang the doorbell, and opened fire as the boy came to the door.
Prosecutors have said the shooting was a case of mistaken identity. They say Betancourt and other men intended to shoot someone else in revenge but went to the wrong house.
